14 year old Rachel Holland has just been selected to go to the Junior European Championships in Budapest, Hungary the first weekend of July. She has been chosen to compete in the girls aged 14/15 platform event.
Rachel, who attends Hounsdown Senior School, Totton is over the moon at being selected and said "I am a bit overwhelmed but will rise to the challenge!"
Rachel came into the Southampton programme through the talent identification scheme run back in 2004. The programme are about to undertake this scheme again in several Southampton Schools. Rachel was identified as having the physical attributes needed to excel as a diver and her selection to this prestigious event reflects we got it right!
Coach Charly Tomkys said of her selection "I am delighted for Rachel that all of her hard work has paid off, and I hope this will be the first of many successful events for her."
