Southampton divers gained amazing results in a two-day Nationals Skills final in Leeds. Twenty-two divers from The Quay's swimming and diving complex competed at the John Charles Centre for Sports showing great results on springboard and proved they are still one of the top diving clubs in the Country. Coaches for the meet were Louise Alderman and Jack Clewlow whose team produced fantastic results where their scores showed that they achieved the recommended standard for the National final. Teammates in the boys 14-16 age group gave a very exciting performance and showed great team spirit where they picked up three medals. Luke Jakes won gold, Liam Gibson won silver and Charlie Rigelsford won bronze, out of the seventeen boys competing. Thomas Wrightson performed well on springboard in the group D boys and won bronze with a score of 249.15. Aimee Coppin showed consistency throughout and achieved great results and gained a bronze medal. Group D girls age 10 and 11 yrs was a tough event: with twenty-six divers there were some good dives performed by the girls. Abbie Baker remained focused throughout where she finished a fantastic 8th. In the last event for the boys age 8 and 9 yrs proved to be another exciting group. Three of our divers battled it out with very close results. Our youngest Southampton diver Brandon Foster showed determination in his first national competition only losing gold position on his final dive. Robbie Brodie dived well in this group where he won bronze. FULL RESULTS Springboard
