A day trip to the "St Albans Dive In" by divers from Southampton Diving Academy resulted in three gold medals and a clutch of good performances. The team of fifteen were a young and inexperienced group. For many this was a first competition away from their home pool, but all rose to the occasion and there were some very good performances. Most successful on the day were Aimee Coppin (8), Nicholas Egg (9) and William Osborne (8) who all took gold medals in their respective events. Diving consistently throughout the competition Aimee showed her considerable potential, attracting a 7 for her forward dive and scoring a creditable 66 points overall, exceeding gold medalists in some of the older events. Nicholas also performed consistently, taking his first title in the sport in a strong field. William gave a confident performance, his back dive attracting a score of 7, showing that he is capable of some excellent results in a competitive environment. Lead coach at the meet, Charly Tomkys, was very pleased with the outcome. "This was an important opportunity for some of our newer and younger divers to get into the competitive scene and they showed they are very ready for the challenge," she said. Full results:
